All my nows and thens

All my nows and thens

The waves of life push me far
The wind of sorrow surrounds me
The chills of darkness embrace me
And wrap me in velvet night

Though the trees sway gently
And the river flows south
The evergreen mountains remember
The lost sorrows of old

Drip, drip go the tears
Creak, creak says the frog
The sound of nature engulfs me
And the whisper of life sings

In all the days I have lived
And all the memories I’ve gathered
In all my nows and all my thens
I know joy, for I knew love
